Calculate Working Days

You can easily calculate the number of working days between two specified dates using NETWORKDAYS function in Excel.

You need to mention if there are any holidays between the two dates.

The function is: =NETWORKDAYS(start_date,end_date,[holidays])

Where:
start_date is the first date of the period
end_date is the last date of the period

[holidays] are the number of days which will not be counted in this period. This is an optional part of the formula. You could choose to not write any value for holidays or write Zero (0).

Please note that this formula does not count Saturday and Sunday as they are not working days.

For example, for knowing the working days between 11-12-2013 (cell A1) and 11-22-2013 (cell B1), use the following formula:

=NETWORKDAYS(A1,B1,0)

The answer will be 9 days as there are 11 days between 12-11-2013 and 22-11-2013 of which 16th and 17th are weekends.
