Selecting and Formatting Blank Cells

How do you select all the blank cells in the selected range?

1) Select the range of cells and press F5.
2) Click on 'Special', click 'Blanks' and click OK.

This could be used to format all the blank cells in a particular theme.

Another way to format the blank cells in the sheet is by using conditional formatting:


1) Select the range of cells (the entire range and not restricted to the blank cells) where your data is present.
2) Click on 'Conditional Formatting' in the 'Home' menu.
3) Click on the option 'Highlight Cell Value' and click on 'Equal To'.
4) Select one of the blank cells in the range and you will see that all the blank cells have been highlighted in a particular color.
5) You can change the formatting of the blank cells by clicking on the dropdown next to selecting the value. You can either use the available options or use your own choice of colors.
